In the Land of the Free, narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, examines the story of Herman Wallace, Albert Woodfox and Robert King who have spent almost a century between them in solitary confinement in a former slave plantation called Angola in Louisiana.  Known as the Angola 3 they were targeted in the 70s for their activism against the terrible conditions in the prison and for being members of the Black Panther party. Herman and Albert are still fighting to prove their innocence while serving their 39th year in solitary confinement.
